Coal Mine Information System (CMIS)
The Coal Mine Information System (CMIS) - An online map that provides access to GIS layers showing locations of underground and surface coal mines in Indiana. It was created through a cooperative agreement between the Indiana Geological Survey and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Reclamation (through the Abandoned Mine Lands Program). The homepage of the CMIS also contains links to download and access GIS layers and metadata, additional resources and information on coal mines, as well as links to prepared maps (Adobe PDFs) showing a wide variety of topics that involve coal mines in Indiana.

Allen County Geology
The Allen County Geology Map - An online map focusing on the geology of Allen County in northeastern Indiana. Located astride the eastern continental drainage divide, Allen County encompasses some of the most complex and interesting geology and groundwater issues found anywhere in the eastern U.S. Virtually every aspect of modern life is influenced in some way by the geologic underpinnings of the county, from the groundwater that provides most of the region's water, to the limestone bedrock that supplies the basic building materials for most infrastructure. This map provides a wide range of geologic information for Allen County, including surficial geology, drift thickness, bedrock geology, bedrock topography, water table elevation, and aquifer sensitivity.

Marion County Geology
The Marion County Geology Map - An online GIS focusing on the geology of Marion County, in central Indiana. Marion county is located in the physigraphic province known as the Central Till Plain Region. This region is characterized by thick deposits of pre-Wisconsin and Wisconsin glacial materials that overlie bedrock. The character of these glacial and bedrock materials affects a wide variety of environmental conditions, including the availability of drinking water and building materials, the character of the landscape and land use. This map provides a wide range of geologic information for Marion County, including bedrock geology, bedrock topography, glacial geology, hydrogeologic settings and aquifer sensitivity.

Lake Rim
The Lake Michigan Rim GIS - An online GIS of Northwestern Indiana, built as a collaborative effort between federal, state and local agencies and communities to provide information needed to assist the public's involvement in local resource use and planning issues. The data provided include locally developed data, environmental assessment data for selected projects in this region of Indiana, as well as many years of aerial photography. Many of these datasets are free and available for download, and all data are documented with compliant metadata.

Indiana Historical Aerial Photos Index (IHAPI)
The Indiana Historical Aerial Photography Index (IHAPI) - An online map to facilitate the identification and retrieval of historical aerial photographs. IHAPI allows users to easily locate a site of interest and determine unique identification numbers for individual photos on all index maps for a given area of interest. Copies of the photos can then be ordered from various archival collections, including the IGS archive. IHAPI provides an index to over 113,000 photos taken from the early 1940's until the 1970's. The IGS archives offers digital scans for over 40,000 of these images.

  Campus Limestone Tour
The IUB Campus Walking Tour - An online map highlighting the limestone, architecture, and history of the IU campus in Bloominton, Indiana. Utilizing a "story board" format, this interactive map can be used on any mobile device to enhance the walking tour of the IUB campus. Users can click features on the map to see photos and read information detailing the limestone used in construction of each building, the architecture style, and historic facts.
